Abstract | The TerraMA2 computational platform for implementation of operational systems for monitoring, analysis and early warning in a disaster management environment has been developed since 2007 by the Image Processing Division(DPI) of the Brazilian National Institute for Space Research (INPE). The objective of TerraMA2 is to allow various communities related to disaster management to study, to understand, and to issue early warnings for extreme events and their consequences, including natural and man-made disasters. The main characteristics of TerraMA2 are the easiness to configure, the access to dynamic information from remote data servers, the programming through simple computer language of early warning models, and the issuing of early warning to diverse types of users. TerraMA2 is available for download for MS-Windows and Linux environments at www.dpi.inpe.br/terrama2. |
